Kambarang

Second Spring

October to November

Season of Flowers and Abundance

Kambarang brings longer, warmer days to Dayton, with an explosion of colour as wildflowers bloom and wildlife becomes more active. It is a season full of energy, signalling the approach of summer.

In our Bush Tucker garden, Burdekin Plum and a second flush of Bush Cherry reflect this abundance. These plants provide rich opportunities for students to explore food sources, seasonal cycles, and sustainable harvesting practices.

The Yarning Circle during Kambarang is a place to celebrate abundance and connection. Students can yarn about what they have learned throughout the seasons, observe insects and reptiles, and take part in harvesting or garden care. It is also a perfect time for outdoor learning, storytelling, and celebration of the school project’s growth.

Across all six Noongar seasons, our Yarning Circle and Bush Tucker garden connect students to Country, culture, and sustainability. This project continues to grow as a living classroom—supporting hands-on learning, respect for First Nations knowledge, and a deeper understanding of our school community’s environment.
