Student Wellbeing

Wellbeing at Emmaus

At Emmaus Catholic Primary School, we believe school should be a positive, productive, and enjoyable experience for all students.

Positive Behaviour Intervention Supports (PBIS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) further guide and support students at different levels—teaching universal skills to all, providing extra help to some, and offering targeted intervention for those who need it. Through the Berry Street Education Model, all staff are trained in strategies to support students with diverse needs, including those with complex challenges. This approach helps improve students’ self-regulation, relationships, wellbeing, and academic success through trauma-informed teaching, positive education, and wellbeing practices. Our Wellbeing Coordinator, Social Worker, Leadership Team and Learning Support Coordinator liaise regularly to review individual student cases in aim of supporting social and emotional development of specific students requiring targeted intervention.
